What Will Profit Your Soul?

Last week I shared here how we–Truth Missionary Baptist Church, Dansoman, Accra— hold our Sunday services amid the COVID-19 restrictions on public gathering in many countries. I indicated that

The model we have adopted is small family gatherings for worship every Sunday. Before Sunday, our Pastor prepares his sermon outline and sends it to the various families in the church through WhatsApp. On Sunday, every family meets and conducts a family worship service. This meeting takes place at the same time 09:00am-11:00am across all families of the church. Families in various homes of the church therefore meet, sing, read Scriptures and hear the Word preached in their home. For those living alone, they are advised to adopt the outline to suit their situation, i.e. use the outline in a personal devotional format.

Today, we held our services as usual with a message titled What Will Profit Your Soul? which is taken from Mark 8:36-37 where the Lord Jesus Christ asked his disciples “For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” In the outline sent to the families of the church, Pastor Kcofie Ferguson pointed out four lessons in Jesus’s question

I. A Clear Doctrine of the Soul
II. A Clear Difficulty of the Soul
III. A Clear Danger of the Soul
IV. A Clear Direction for the Soul
